Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born on November 19 1959. Her performance on screen and stage have been praised over her long career. Janney was honored with various awards including an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. She has won seven Primetime Emmy Awards were also awarded to her. She was also nominated for two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Dayton, Ohio. She was born and raised in Boston. The award was for a study in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art when she completed her studies at Kenyon College. Janney's first appearance on television was 1999, when she played C. J. Cregg in the NBC's drama The West Wing (from 1999 to 2006). She received the role four Primetime Emmy Awards for the character. Janney was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for 2014 Outstanding Guest actor in a Drama Series following her role as Margaret Scully on the Showtime series Masters of Sex.
